We separate babies into 3 age groups for fair competition
Newborn Division
0-6 Months
- First smiles & milestones

Infant Division
7-12 Months
- Sitting & crawling stage

Toddler Division
13-24 Months
- Walking & talking stage

Why Age Divisions Matter
Babies develop at different rates. By separating into age groups, we ensure fair competition where a 2-month-old isn't competing against a walking toddler. This gives every baby a genuine chance to win based on their developmental stage.
Contest Rules
Eligibility
- Babies and toddlers must be 0-24 months old at time of entry
- Automatically entered in age division: Newborn (0-6m), Infant (7-12m), or Toddler (13-24m)
- One entry per baby per monthly contest
- Parent/guardian must consent to entry
- No purchase necessary to enter or win
- Open to residents of USA and Canada
- Top 10 finishers each month (across all divisions) qualify for Baby of the Year championship
Photo Guidelines & Privacy
🔒 Privacy Protected: All submitted photos are only visible to registered and logged-in members. Photos are NOT publicly accessible on the internet or indexed by search engines.
- High-quality photos only (min 800x800px)
- Baby must be clearly visible in photo
- No inappropriate content or backgrounds
- Original photos only (no stock images)
- You must own rights to the photo
Voting System
- One FREE vote per baby per day (vote for multiple babies daily!)
- Free votes reset at midnight - use them or lose them
- Email verification required to vote (free signup)
- Purchase credits to cast additional votes
- 1 credit = 1 vote (use credits to vote for any baby)
- Credit bundles available: 1, 5, 10, 25, or 50 credits
- Credit pricing varies by competition - check current contest
- Votes tracked to prevent fraud and bots
- Contest closes at 11:59 PM on last day of month
- Winners determined by total valid votes received
Alternate Method of Entry (AMOE)
To ensure equal opportunity, you may receive free bonus voting credits without purchase:

- Newsletter Subscriber: Subscribe = 5 free credits instantly, PLUS earn 5 additional credits monthly when you click special links in our newsletter emails!
- Community Engagement: Vote for other babies = earn 0.1 credit per vote cast. Vote for 10 different babies daily to earn 1 full bonus credit! Promotes fair voting across all contestants.
- Profile Visits: When someone views your baby's contest profile = 0.2 credits per unique visitor (max 20 credits per day). No action required - just share your baby's profile link naturally with friends and family!
- Email Verification: Complete email verification = 5 free bonus credits (one-time bonus per account).
- Tell Your Friends: When friends and family visit your baby's profile through your personal invitation = 2 free credits (max 10 credits per day from profile visits).
- Referral Program: Refer a friend who enters their baby = 10 free credits when they submit their first entry.
- Processing: All digital methods credited instantly. AMOE credits function identically to purchased credits. Fractional credits (0.1) accumulate until reaching whole credits.
Purchase & Refund Policy
- All Sales Final: Credit purchases are non-refundable once used to cast votes
- Unused Credits: Refund available within 7 days if credits remain unused
- Technical Issues: Full refund if votes fail to register due to system error
- Chargebacks: Initiating a chargeback may result in vote suspension pending investigation
- Contact info@babyofthemonth.org for refund requests within 7 days
Anti-Fraud & Fair Play
- Prohibited: Bots, scripts, automated voting, VPN manipulation
- Vote Limits: Maximum 500 votes per user per day (all methods combined)
- Purchase Limits: Maximum $500 in credits per payment method per month
- Monitoring: All votes tracked with IP, device fingerprint, and timestamps
- Violations: Fraudulent activity results in immediate disqualification and vote removal
Prize Payment
- Winners announced within 3 business days
- Identity verification required before payout
- Payment via PayPal, Venmo, or check
- Prizes paid within 7 business days
- Tax forms provided for prizes over $600
