Privacy & Child Safety

We implement multiple layers of protection: automatic watermarking on all images (our logo overlay), right-click download deterrents, low-resolution display copies (high-res never shown), first names only displayed (no last names or parent info), ability to remove entry at any time, and active DMCA enforcement against theft.

Yes, contest photos are publicly visible to maximize voting engagement and give your baby the best chance to win. However, we protect your privacy by: displaying first names/nicknames only (never last names), watermarking all photos, never showing parent names or contact info, and allowing you to remove your entry at any time.

Contest pages may be indexed by search engines to help families discover the contest. However, your baby's photo is protected by our watermark and only associated with their first name — never last names, family details, or contact information. You can withdraw your entry anytime to remove it completely.

We prevent unauthorized use with: automatic watermarking on every photo (our logo overlay), right-click download deterrents, low-resolution display images only (high-res never shown), active monitoring for violations, and aggressive DMCA enforcement against theft. While no system is 100% foolproof, we make misuse very difficult and pursue violators legally.

Only baby's first name (or nickname if preferred), age in months, and photo. We NEVER display: last names, addresses, parent names, phone numbers, email addresses, or any other identifying information.

Yes. You can withdraw your entry at any time from your account. Once withdrawn, the photo is immediately removed from public display. When deletion is finalized, entry photos and linked votes are deleted; financial and audit records may be retained or pseudonymized where tax, fraud-prevention, or legal obligations require it.

We prioritize child safety with: strict photo content moderation before approval, no personal information displayed (first names only, no parent info), watermarking and download protection, active monitoring for inappropriate behavior, strict community guidelines enforcement, and immediate removal of violations.

Report it immediately — email info@babyofthemonth.org or use the report button. We review all safety reports within 24 hours; urgent matters are escalated immediately. Violations result in entry removal and account review.

Every submitted photo goes through human review before approval. We check for: photo quality and clarity, appropriate content, no inappropriate backgrounds, compliance with community guidelines, and original photo ownership. Automated pre-screening flags priority items; a human moderator makes the final call.

Yes. All members must: verify email addresses, agree to community guidelines, are tracked with IP and device info, and suspicious activity triggers account review. We actively monitor and ban users who violate policies.

We use enterprise-level security: SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission, encrypted database storage, secure AWS cloud hosting, payment processing by Stripe (a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider, so we never see or store your full card details), regular security audits, limited internal access controls, and compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and privacy best practices.

We never sell, rent, or lease your personal information. We share data only with necessary service providers who operate the platform on our behalf — payment processors (Stripe), fraud detection services, and analytics tools — all under strict confidentiality. We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

We collect only what's necessary: parent email for account login, baby's first name and age, uploaded photo, voting activity, payment information (processed securely by Stripe), and basic usage analytics. You can request data deletion anytime.

Yes. In Profile → Settings → Data & Privacy you can delete your entire account, or use /privacy-rights if you are signed out. Removing a contest entry only deletes that entry — your account stays active unless you also delete it. Public entries are removed from contest surfaces, linked votes and entry photos are deleted, and retained financial or audit records are pseudonymized except where tax, fraud-prevention, or legal obligations require retention.

Our platform is adult-only — children are never users or account holders. Only parents or legal guardians (18+) can create accounts and submit entries. We display first names only (never full identities), watermark all photos, and review all submissions before they go live. Parents can request review, correction, or removal of their child's information at any time; public display removal is immediate, and finalized deletion removes entry photos and linked votes while required financial or audit records may remain pseudonymized.

YOU DO! You retain full ownership and copyright of your baby's photos. By entering, you grant us a limited license to display the photo in the contest and for promotional purposes (with permission), but ownership always remains with you.

By entering the contest you grant us a license to use your photo for contest-related promotion — winner announcements, contest galleries, and social media spotlights for winners (including boosted posts, which are part of the winner prize). We do not use photos in unrelated paid advertising campaigns without separate consent. Parents can request removal of their entry at any time; see our Terms of Service for the full license terms.

Report it immediately to info@babyofthemonth.org. We take copyright violations seriously and will: investigate the theft, pursue legal action if warranted, help you file DMCA takedown notices, and ban the offending user permanently.
